Volkswagen Repair & Service in Murfreesboro, TN
GTI and Golf R work from MK4 through MK8, plus Jetta, Passat, and Tiguan. DSG service, carbon cleaning, and timing jobs that get skipped until something breaks.
What we do most on Volkswagens
The recurring jobs, and the platforms they come in on most often.
- Carbon cleaning — intake valves (EA888 · 2.0T TSI) — The MK5 and MK6 GTI especially. Walnut blast of the intake valves, borescope before and after. Power returns and idle smooths out.
- DSG service (DQ250 · DQ381) — Fluid and filter more frequently than Volkswagen's interval suggests. Lazy shifts and hard engagement come first. Don't wait for slip.
- Timing chain — MK6 and MK7 (EA888 Gen 1 · Gen 2) — Rattles on startup and stretch codes. We do the full kit — chain, tensioner, guides — not just the one part in the fault log.
- Oil separator and PCV (2.0T · 1.8T) — The part that makes the engine smoke and consume oil. Usually replaced and forgotten until it fails again the same way.
- DCC and suspension service (MK7 · MK8 GTI · Golf R) — Adaptive damper faults, control arm wear, and the alignment that should follow any suspension work.
- Haldex service (Golf R · MK7 · MK8) — Haldex filter and fluid is the job most Golf R owners skip, then wonder why the rear isn't engaging properly.
Why bring it here
- VAG platforms are in the bays constantly — the failure points are not guesswork here
- Alignment rack on site so suspension work and alignment are done in one trip
- Independent rates and real diagnostics, not a scan tool printout and a parts list
- Photos and a written summary of what we found and what it means
Questions we get on every car
The same answers whatever badge is on the hood.
European is our specialty and most of the daily work, but the bays stay open for anything we can do properly. If a job needs a tool or a platform we do not have, we will tell you rather than learn on your car.
Scheduled maintenance done by an independent shop with correct parts and documented intervals does not void a factory warranty. We keep records specifically so you have the paperwork if it is ever questioned.
Diagnostics are quoted up front, then the repair is quoted separately once we know the actual cause. Nothing extra happens without your approval — if a job turns up something unexpected we stop and call you.
OE or OE-equivalent for most jobs, with the reasoning explained. Where an aftermarket part is genuinely better — and on some of these platforms it is — we will say so and let you choose.
Most maintenance is same day or next day. Bigger jobs get a date when we quote them, and you get a call if anything changes rather than silence.
Absolutely, and plenty of people do. Bring us the other shop's quote and we will tell you honestly whether we would do the same work.
