Automotive Diagnostics in Murfreesboro, TN
Tell us what it's doing and what you've already tried. We'll read the data and give you a straight answer.
When to stop guessing and start reading data
Chasing electrical faults with parts is how shops run up bills and still don't fix the problem. Most modern car issues leave a trail in the data — you just need the right tools and someone who knows how to read them.
- Check engine light that comes back after parts have already been thrown at it
- Misfire or rough idle that changes with temperature and doesn't leave a consistent code
- Heat-soak problems — the car runs fine cold but falls apart after 20 minutes
- TPMS, ABS, or traction control faults with no obvious cause
- Electrical gremlins — intermittent lights, accessories that cut in and out, drain after sitting
- Power or response that fell off gradually with no fault stored
- You've been quoted a major repair based on a code alone and want a second read
A code tells you where to look. It does not tell you what to fix. We find the cause, not just the symptom that showed up on the scanner.
What's included
Diagnostics here means reading the full picture — scan data, live feeds, and physical inspection where the data points.
- Full system scan — All modules, not just the engine. We read the fault history and look at codes that are stored but not active.
- Live data and datalog — Fuel trims, boost, timing, throttle response, and sensor behavior under load. This is how heat-soak problems and intermittent faults actually get caught.
- Visual and physical inspection — Wiring, connectors, grounds, and vacuum routing. A sensor code is often a bad ground, not a bad sensor.
- Written findings — What we found, what caused it, and what a proper fix looks like — not a code list.
Four steps, and you drive away knowing exactly where the car stands
What discipline, what events, what changed since the last time anyone looked. This decides where we look hardest.
The full check with the car in the air and the wheels off. Every finding gets photographed as we go.
A written report with photos, sorted into safety-critical, fix-before-the-event, and monitor.
We go through it with you at the car. You decide what we fix, what you fix, and what waits.
"Found a cracked subframe mount two days before an event that three other shops missed. Fixed it and I still made the tow."
Common questions
Do you charge a diagnostic fee?
Yes. Diagnostics takes time and equipment. We quote the diagnostic fee upfront. If we do the repair, the diagnostic time is applied to the total.
What if the scan doesn't find anything?
A clean scan is useful information too. It narrows the fault to systems that don't leave codes, and we tell you where to look next.
Can you diagnose a car you didn't work on before?
Yes — most diagnostic jobs are on cars we're seeing for the first time. We don't need service history to read the data.
What if I already know the code?
Codes are a starting point. Tell us what came up and we'll tell you whether it points to a part, a circuit, or something upstream causing it.
Book it before the tow
Inspection slots fill fastest the week before local events. Tell us the event date and we'll work backwards from it.
